1986 Reunion of Rohatyn Region Immigrants in 1986 at The Ukrainian National Association Heritage Center - Soyuzivka in the Catskill Mountains, Kerhonkson, New York.

The above September 21, 1986 photograph was taken at the third reunion of immigrants to the United States and Canada from the Rohatyn Region of Ukraine. The reunion was held at the Soyuzivka Ukrainian Heritage Center: “The Little Ukraine of the Catskill Mountains”, in Kerhonkson, New York. The Ukrainian Civic Center of Rochester was affiliated with the Ukrainian (Ruthenian) National Association and became Assembly 316 of that organization on April 12, 1912.

While the vast majority of early immigrant pioneers to Rochester, New York were from Putyatyntsi, Ukraine, there were also Ukrainian immigrants from other villages in the Rohatyn Region represented. They hailed from Cherche, Zhovchiv, Pukiv, Obel’nytsya, Nastashyne, Nyzhnya Lypytsya, Dobryniv, and Chesnyky.
