About the Project

The first immigrant to Rochester, New York from Putyatyntsi, Ukraine was Hrynko Pakula in 1902. In total, 320 people from Putyatyntsi followed in Hrynko’s footsteps and made this migratory journey. They left an indelible mark on Rochester, as well as their home village.

This is a curated selection of information, photos and documents about their families and contributions. This website is meant to be collaborative. Please use the contact form below.
